Year 1 investigated joining materials using safety pins, staples, and glue. We then drew a design of our puppet and made it using fabric.
In art we have been learning about 3D sculptures. We have learned how to roll and shape paper to make it 3D. We used our teamwork antlers to create a class sculpture. We rolled paper and attached them together to make a giant spider sculpture based on the work of Louise Bourgeois (Maman 1999).
We took part in science week. We used role-play to act out how bee's help flowers. We showed the bee's journey to flowers, collecting nectar and transferring pollen from one flower to another.
We enjoyed taking part in careers day, learning about what different jobs there are, what we would like to be when we are older and what skills we might need.
We enjoyed taking part in a fruit pizza workshop! We used our senses to touch, smell and taste different fruits. We then safely cut the fruits and made our own fruit pizzas.
